In order to satisfy the long felt need of education among the children of the outskirts of Trivandrum district, the Thiruvananthapuram Muslim Association Education Trust decided to establish a model public school with all state of the art equipments and amenities to give a sound and well balanced education to the students of the city. The Muslim Association, Thiruvananthapuram formed a Trust and started the Abdul Salam Rafi Residential School in the city at Nettayam in 1996. The school is affiliated to The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE affiliation No.930171). The school is situated in a lush green sprawling 10.50 acres of land surrounded by verdant hills just eight kilometers from the city. It is linked with all places of the city by enough transportation.
A.R.R School building was constructed with the financial help of the great philanthropist Janab Abdul Salam Mohammed Rafi of U.A.E. It has spacious class rooms including smart class, fully equipped laboratories for all subjects, modernized computer labs and magnificent auditorium, play ground for sports and major games like Football, Hockey, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball and amenities for the physical development of the students.
